How much does a supplement website cost in the UK?
Why quotes vary so much
Ask five agencies to quote a supplement website and the numbers can span an order of magnitude. The variation is rarely dishonesty — it is scope. "A website" can mean a templated brochure, or a custom-designed Shopify storefront with subscriptions, bundles, compliant product pages and structured data. Those are different products that happen to share a name.
Supplement brands carry an extra cost line most agencies never mention because they cannot deliver it: claims compliance. A site that looks beautiful and says unlawful things is not an asset — it is a liability with good typography.
What actually drives the price
- E-commerce depth — checkout, subscriptions, bundles and market/currency setup, not just "pages"
- Custom design versus a template with your logo on it
- Copywriting, and whether anyone qualified reviews the claims in it
- SEO and AI-visibility engineering: structured data, performance, answer-ready content
- Who carries the project — freelancer, generalist agency, or a specialist who has built for your category before
Our pricing, published
We charge a fixed £10,000 for the core build: custom mobile-first design, full Shopify e-commerce, conversion copy with a regulatory claims pass, and launch in around four weeks. Add-ons are published too — £2,500 for the deeper AI-visibility engineering, £2,500 for the full regulatory and labelling review, £59/month for the ongoing care plan.
The most expensive website is the wrong cheap one
The costly failure modes we see are consistent: a cheap build that has to be redone within a year; a beautiful site whose claims trigger a takedown, burning the packaging and ad spend attached to them; and a platform choice that cannot do subscriptions, quietly capping lifetime value. Price the rebuild, the takedown and the lost retention into any quote you compare — suddenly the spread between quotes gets much smaller.
